  NCAA Eligibility

If a student would like to participate in Division I or II athletics as a college freshman, the student must register and be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

  1. Register at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net.

  2. Once the registration form is completed online, download the student release forms and return them to the guidance department.

  3. Upon receipt of your release forms, your counselor will mail your transcripts to the NCAA Clearinghouse for processing.

  4. SAT Scores must be sent directly to the Clearinghouse via The College Board.  The code for submission of your scores is "9999".

To be eligible, students must

  • complete a set number of CORE courses

  • earn a minimum required grade-point average in those core courses

  • earn a combined SAT or ACT sum score that matches the core-course grade-point average and test score sliding scale

Please refer to the NCAA's website at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net (click on "Prospective Student-Athletes") for more information.  Requirements vary according to the year a student plans to enter college.

Please note that NOT ALL COURSES COUNT AS CORE COURSES.  Math, for example, may be one course area that does not.

PLEASE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR GUIDANCE COUNSELOR TO DISCUSS THIS ASPECT OF COLLEGE PLANNING.
