Dear Parents. I hope this email finds you well.
As per Mr. Power’s letter, Albertus will be closed Monday, March 16th thru Wednesday, April 1st.
For the two weeks leading up to the school closure teachers prepared lessons, assignments, projects, PowerPoint presentations, videos, etc. with hopes that we would not have to close before Easter break. As you know the CDC, NYS Department of Health, and the Archdiocese have recommended school closure as a means of disrupting the possible spread of the Corona virus.
As we had discussed with the students in class over those two weeks, students are responsible for checking their school email periodically each day for communication from teachers and administrators. In addition to general communication students are responsible for all assignments and projects teachers have posted and will continue to post on their course pages in OnCampus. Each teacher will be using methods that best suit their subject matter. Students should submit assignments and projects as directed by the faculty and in a timely manner. In turn the faculty will grade the assignments and constantly update their gradebooks. If a student has a question about a topic, assignment, project, etc. he or she should email the teacher. Teachers will also check their email from the hours of 8:30am thru 1:00pm Monday,
March 16th thru Wednesday, April 1st.
It is our goal to continue instruction and learning to the best of our ability. When necessary, adjustments will be made as we progress through the week. We are fortunate each student has a school issued computer and use OneNote, OnCampus, and various other learning programs in their different courses. Access to these programs is not limited to the school issued computer. They can be accessed on any device. When we return, teachers will address any subject matter that needs clarification and extra help will be conducted as needed.
It is our hope this clarifies the instructions discussed with students and faculty and answers any questions you may have regarding expectations. Please let us know any questions you may have as to how we plan to continue the learning process through this uncertain time. Mr. Power will also update as we receive additional information.
Hopefully this is short lived, and everyone stays healthy.
Thank you for your support.
