Dear Albertus Magnus School Community,
Please be advised that we have learned of members of an Albertus Magnus family that have tested positive for COVID-19 virus. Due to confidentiality considerations, Albertus will not provide any further identifyinginformation.Thefamilyhasbeentestedandexaminedbytheirhealthcareproviderandthe NewYorkStateDepartmentofHealthhasbeennotified'appropriately.Ihavepersonallyspokentothe DOH who advised me that there are no further actions that can be taken at this time.
Please keep in mind that the symptoms and test began with a parent after the school was closed and students were not in attendance for almost a week.
I have also been working closely with the Clarkstown Central School District Health personnel. It is recommended that if you experience any symptoms, including dry cough, fever or shortness of breath, please contact your physician or other health care provider immediately for guidance. We recommend that everyone continues to follow the CDC's recommendations of hand washing, social distancing, covering the mouth, coughing and sneezing into a tissue, etc.
Unfortunately, the reality is this will not be the only family from our community to be affected by this pandemic. I will continue to pray for the Albertus Magnus community and ask that you do the same.
St. Albert the Great Pray for Us,
Christopher M. Power
