Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we close this very difficult and challenging academic year, I would like to again acknowledge our students, faculty and you, the parents, as we quickly transitioned to remote learning and instruction. Due to the technology Albertus had in place before the pandemic, along with the talents, skills and hard work of our faculty and students, as well as the commitment of our parents to the education of their students, we successfully ended the 2019-2020 academic year. We can honestly say that we did not miss one day of instruction. Everyone demonstrated an extraordinary level of perseverance, resilience and dedication through these very difficult times.
As we close this very difficult and challenging academic year, I would like to again acknowledge our students, faculty and you, the parents, as we quickly transitioned to remote learning and instruction. Our efforts are now redirected to the 2020-21 academic year. At this time, we have targeted Tuesday, September 8th, as the date that school will begin. I am personally looking forward to working with Mr. Joseph Tweed, who was recently named the Albertus Magnus Head of School and who will be joining our great community on July 1, 2020. I look forward to his experience and leadership as we join to continue to navigate through these difficult times.
Obviously, the direction of reopening Albertus is on the minds of all of us. The administration will be working together over the summer and through the direction and guidance of local and state agencies, we will develop the best plan for our return. We continue to formulate the best course of action for our school community as we learn what the government and health officials recommend.
Flexibility and the ability to adjust plans to changing circumstances are important. I will continue to remain in communication with parents over the summer to update and provide the status on the plans for reopening.
Albertus Magnus will continue to provide a quality education in any format in the academic year 2020-2021. We will do so by keeping the health and safety of our students and community as paramount.
I wish you all a safe and blessed summer. I hope you all find some time for rest and relaxation.
