Dear Seniors of the Class of 2020,
As I write this letter, I’m thinking ( as many of you are) that by now your graduation and all the activities that would have preceded it would be over and you would be looking forward to summer and making plans for college. However, we all know that is not the case and we all have had to adjust to the situation and restrictions it has placed upon us.
I am also looking back and thinking I can’t believe how fast you time at AM has gone. It seems like only yesterday, I was in your freshman theology classes looking into the faces of bewildered young boys and girls, as I passed out Dominican 101 booklets and then proceeded to fling lollipops around the room. You were probably wondering, “WHO IS THIS CRAZY LADY!!”.
I am also thinking of those stressed, freshman faces scurrying past me in senior hallway, schedules in front of your faces, nervously asking, “Where is room 107!”. I’m not sure how many times you passed me in Senior Hallway over these last 4 years (some managed 2-3 times in one class change???- Amazing!), but I do know that I came to see you grow each year from those young boys and girls, into the fine young men and women you are today.
As I said before, it’s been awhile since Dominican 101 but I hope and pray you will always carry in your heart the Dominican Spirit and rely on those 4 Pillars as you continue on your journey for that’s what made Albert… Great! Remember you will always be part of our AM/Dominican Family and no matter where life takes you, you will always be welcomed to your AM home.
Thank you, for the times you visited my office be it for a lollipop, a quick hello, to chill or a heart to heart talk. I always loved seeing you no matter what the reason.
Lastly, Class of 2020, I leave you with the words of Harriet Tubman, a woman who knew challenging journeys.
“Always remember you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the WORLD.”
With Love and Prayers,
