Chris Cooney
Chris Cooney was born in Yonkers, New York and lived on University Avenue in the Bronx. He attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine before moving to Stony Point where he still lives today.
Chris attended Stony Point Elementary School, James A. Farley Middle School and graduated from North Rockland High School in 1985
Chris is the oldest child of Maureen (deceased 2003) and Joseph, he has a brother Michael and two sisters, Jacqueline, and Diane.
Chris spent over 16 years as a police officer and retired as a detective from the NYPD Bronx Warrant Squad in 2010.
Chris is the proud father of two Albertus graduates - Christopher ‘17 and Jessica ’20.
Since 2016, Chris has assisted the AM baseball teams with game day field preparation and has assisted the AM baseball coaches with winter workouts, practices, and all behind the scenes jobs to make sure the student athletes are ready to play. He has assisted with filming girls basketball games and supported the girls lacrosse and field hockey teams as well.
One of the highlights of being involved with AM was when he coached the AM baseball team in a county-wide school baseball tournament in the Summer of 2020 after the pandemic led to the cancelation of the regular school baseball season. The Falcons team went 2-1 in the tournament beating Nanuet and North Rockland. It was a highlight because the seniors were able to finish their high school baseball career instead of forfeiting the whole season.
