Congratulations to Coach Lou Ostolozaga and our AM girls, Ciara Doyle, ’22, Claire Gardner, ’21, Emma Neil, ’21, and Grace Gregory, ’21, by breaking the 38-year-old Sprint Medley record at The Glen D. Louck’s Games in a time of 4:18.61. The previous mark was 4:25.2 set in 1983 held by Susan Golabek, ‘85, Della Halley ‘86, Theresa McGuire, ’86, Lisa Jo Patten, ‘86.
If one record wasn’t enough, Claire Gardner, ’21, follows up by breaking the school mile record held by Falcon Legend and AM Hall-of-Famer, Laurel Gilhooly Reilly, ‘81. Claire placed 2nd at the Glen D. Louck’s Games in a time of 5:09.2 besting the previous mark of 5:12.2.
When advised of the new record Laurel was surprised she had a record “that old” and while losing the record was bitter sweet she was very excited for Claire. Laurel is still all over the record books as she holds the 5k record and is a member of the Distance Medley (2 versions) and the 4 X 1600 meter relays.
