On Monday, September 11th, Sister Diane McSherry, OP Campus Ministry, planned a beautiful day of remembrance.
In the morning, our school community attended Mass of the Holy Spirit, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Nevin of St. Aedan Catholic Church in Pearl River, NY. During Theology classes, students and their teachers gathered for a memorial prayer service at the 9/11 Memorial on campus. Those assembled remembered the courage, selfless service and sacrifice for others, and loss of life that occurred twenty-two years ago when our nation was attacked. Our prayer intentions were for all who lost their lives, and especially the five members of our AM family who lost their lives on September 11, 2001: Michael McHugh ’84, Sean Fegan ’85, Brian Novotny ’86, Michael Roberts ’89, and Kevin Reilly ’91 as well as Kevin Nolan ’79 who died of a 9/11-related illness. They are in our hearts always.
