AM Students in the Marketing and Art classes enjoyed an educational field trip to MoMA in NYC April. Thirty students joined Ms. Wassmer and Ms. Sicola for docent guided tours of specific works of art.
We were treated to Warhol and Ellsworth, among others. It was a picture-perfect day in Manhattan – no pun intended! Ms. Wassmer pointed out all the other museums as the bus journeyed down the part of Fifth Avenue known as Museum Mile on its way to MoMA.
The theme for the day was Art and Society. The docents’ lessons featured artists whose logos/ media/ branding tell the story of the world we are living in. It was fascinating and informative for the students who were given the opportunity to give their own interpretations of the various works. After the tours, the students and teachers were given free passes to return to MoMA at their leisure and enjoy all the museum has to offer.
