Program History
The Albertus Magnus High School golf program has a rich history of excellence and leadership. Coach Avian Dandridge made significant contributions to the girls golf program, leading the team for many years. His commitment to developing young student-athletes and promoting the sport has had a lasting impact on the program. In 2025, the program celebrated a remarkable achievement when Freshman Sybille Mayer became the Rockland County Girls Golf Champion and set a new county record, highlighting the continued excellence of the team and program. Sybille went on to place 12th at the NYSPHSAA State Championship in 2025 and was named First Team All-State.
Colleges
Maddy Buhler '20 a former All-Section Golfer at Albertus Magnus High School and then a four year golfer at the University of Scranton.
Mariella Yanitelli '19 golfed at Dominican University after a great career at Albertus Magnus.
Coaches
Head Coach Tom O'Grady enters his second season as the Head Coach for our Girls Program. He has been a dedicated member of the program since 2018, serving as the assistant coach for both the boys and girls varsity teams. With a strong commitment to developing student-athletes, Coach O'Grady has played a pivotal role in mentoring players and fostering a competitive spirit within the program. His coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork, contributing to the growth and success of the golf teams at Albertus Magnus High School.
Assistant Coach Kristian O'Grady is a dedicated golf coach at Albertus. An alumnus of the school, he played for the Falcons golf team from 2018-20221. Following his high school career, he continued his athletic and academic career at Felician University, where he competed n the men's golf team and majored in Management. Since returning to Albertus, he has spent the past several years as an assistant for the boys and girls golf teams, bringing his collegiate experience and passion for the sport to mentor and develop young athletes. His commitment to the program reflects a full-circle journey from student-athlete to coach, contributing to the continued success of Albertus Magnus Golf.
