DIRECTIVES FOR STUDENTS DURING MIDTERM EXAMINATIONS

Mr. Christopher Power
  1. It is the student’s responsibility to know the date, time, and location of each one of his/her exams.  Take all books and laptop that will be needed for exams home before exam week.
  2. THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE EXCUSE FOR ABSENCE IS SICKNESS THAT REQUIRES A VISIT TO THE DOCTOR OR AN EXCUSE THAT HAS PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION.  If a student is ill, a parent MUST TELEPHONE the MORNING of the examination.  As soon as a student is well enough, he/she must call the student’s Guidance Counselor to have the examination(s) rescheduled.
  3. Cheating on an examination will result in a ZERO.  Cheating includes the unfair means to pass an examination, giving aid to or obtaining aid from another person in any examination. Possession of electronic devices, to include cellular phones, during any examination is not permitted and will be considered cheating. Laptops may be used at the direction of the teacher.
  4. Before an examination begins, all books and other materials must be placed in front of the room or in the student’s locker. Cell phones MUST be secured in the phone pouches located in the front of each classroom.  Nothing is to be left on the desk.
  5. A student may not leave his/her seat during the examination.  If he/she needs anything or wishes to be excused, he/she should raise his/her hand and the proctor will attend to him/her.
  6. The time of examination is printed on the schedule.  It is also posted on the school web page.
  7. All papers (question, answer and scrap) must be handed to the proctor at the conclusion of the exam.
  8. When a student leaves the examination room, he/she should get his/her belongings quickly and leave the room in SILENCE.  The purpose of the silence is to respect the rights of fellow students.
  9. The cafeteria service will have breakfast and a limited lunch menu available for students during the days that morning and afternoon exam sessions are scheduled.
  10. On the days and times when students do not have an examination, they DO NOT have to come to school.
  11. Students are not permitted to leave campus during the break between exams for any reason unless they do not have an afternoon exam.
  12. The dress code for the exam period is full school uniform for all grades. Dress down privileges will be extended to all students the following week, Catholic Schools week. There will be more details to follow.
