Salt and Light, AM Faculty and Staff Strive for Excellence
Campus Ministry
The theme of the Morning Reflection was “Salt and Light – What does strive for excellence in our faith and in our ministry of education look like?”
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025 the members of the faculty and staff of Albertus Magnus High School gathered at Dominican Convent in Sparkill for a morning of reflection. The morning began with Mass celebrated by Fr. Jerry Deponai, pastor of St. Anthony Parish, and assisted by Deacon Jim Maher (husband of Mrs. Marie Maher, chairperson of the AMHS Math Department).
The theme of the Morning Reflection was “Salt and Light – What does strive for excellence in our faith and in our ministry of education look like?” Sister Kathleen Tuite, O.P. of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Caldwell, offered an engaging presentation focused on Jesus’ teaching of being salt and light to the people we encounter in our ministry and in the wider community (Mt. 5: 13-16).
Following Sr. Kathleen’s presentation was a commissioning ceremony led by Mr. Tweed, Head of School, and a blessing for the faculty and staff for a fulfilling new school year. The morning of reflection concluded with lunch prepared by the dining staff of Dominican Convent.
