AM offers 12 Advanced Placements courses, 15 Dual-Enrollment courses and a full Honors curriculum. 28% of our eligible students are enrolled in Advanced Placement courses and are required to sit for the exam. The 4-year curriculum prepares our Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors for Academic Excellence.
For the 2024-2025 school year, AM students' tests achieved a 97% of scores 3 or higher vs. 75% in New York State and 72% globally.
National Honor Society
Membership in the National Honor Society, Seat of Wisdom chapter, is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to an Albertus student. The National Honor Society strives to recognize the total student who excels in Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character. Students with a weighted 93 average, with no instances of academic dishonesty, suspension or conduct infractions as well as meeting attendance standards, are invited to submit a candidate application in the second semester of Junior year. All applications will be reviewed by a faculty committee in conjunction with our charter from our national organization, NASSP. Selected members are inducted in their Junior year.
Subject Honor Societies
Subject Honor Societies recognize outstanding academic achievement by students over the course of 3 years with selection and induction into the Subject Honor Society in their Senior year. Presented by the Department Chairs of each subject, the Honor Societies are: Art, English, Italian, Mathematics Mu Alpha Theta, Music, Science, Social Studies and Spanish.
Honor Roll
The Honor Roll recognizes students who have achieved an average of 90% with no failing grade in any subject or exam. First Honors are awarded to students with an average of 95% and Second Honors are awarded to students with an average of 90%. The Honor Roll presentation ceremony occurs at the end of each quarter.
Commitment to Excellence Awards
This recognition is awarded at the end of each quarter by all academic disciplines. Nominated by the student's teacher, the Commitment to Excellence Award recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence by working to the best of their ability.
Commendations
The Commendation Program recognizes positive behaviors exhibited by students at AMHS. Taking the time to recognize students for high character and good citizenship promotes positive social, academic, and personal growth. Students and parents will be notified via onCampus that a Commendation has been submitted on their behalf, and students are recognized in front of the school quarterly during the Honor Roll assembly.
