Falcons INSPIRED, AM students attend the Dominican High Schools Preaching Conference

Campus Ministry
Representing Albertus Magnus at the Dominican High Schools Preaching Conference were Amelie Quintana ’27, Forster Walsh ’28, Jaiden Woodley ’28, and Liam Facinelli ‘29.
The students, accompanied by Sr. Diane McSherry O.P. '78, Director of Campus Ministry, joined students and mentors from Dominican Catholic high schools in the tri-state area to participate in workshops on Preaching in the Dominican Tradition. The workshops included:
  • The Four Pillars
  • The Art of Liturgical Preaching
  • Preaching Through the Creative Arts
  • Preaching the Signs of the Times
In addition to the workshops, students planned prayer services, experienced different forms of prayer, gathered in small groups for theological reflection, and formed community through shared meals and social activities. The conference concluded with Mass celebrated by Fr. Manny Gallo, SDB of the Marian Shrine.

The Dominican High Schools Preaching Conference empowers high school students to discover and deepen the preacher within themselves through prayer, study, community, and interaction with members of the Dominican Family. A special thanks to the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill for their ministry grant for this conference and for supporting the participants through their prayers.
