Every April, around the feast of St. Catherine of Siena, the Albertus Magnus High School community celebrates Dominican Day. It is a day set aside for the school community to appreciate our identity as members of a Dominican Catholic high school.
On April 28, 2026, our AM community gathered for Mass celebrated by Fr. McKeon, pastor of St. Catharine Church. Mr. Tweed (Head of School) Mr. Power (Assistant Head of School), and Elizabeth Guzman ‘26 (Preaching Team) welcomed members of the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, founders of Albertus Magnus High School, and congratulated them on their congregation’s 150 years of service to the people of God.
William Brautigam '27 and Amelie Quintana '27 from the AM Preaching Team performed a short skit about St. Catherine of Siena - the great Dominican saint, Doctor of the Church, and patron saint of one of the four Dominican “Houses” at Albertus. The House System places each student into one of four Houses, named in honor of Dominican saints who model faith, service, and excellence:
Aquinas, Dominic, Lima, and
Siena. Within their
Houses, students work as a team to earn points by participating in school-wide events, attending athletic games and performances, engaging in community service, and demonstrating school
spirit and pride.
At the conclusion of Mass, the AM community watched the Sparkill Dominican 150
th Anniversary video that highlighted the history and the mission of the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill. Click

The beautiful morning concluded with refreshments and the chance for a group of students to visit with the sisters and thank them for their sponsorship and support of Albertus Magnus High School.
