AM announces Michael Bruno, Assistant Head of School for Academics

Mr. Michael Bruno will be Assistant Head of School for Academics, effective July 1, 2026. 
After a comprehensive search, Albertus Magnus is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Michael Bruno as Assistant Head of School for Academics, effective July 1, 2026.
 
Mr. Bruno joins Albertus Magnus with more than a decade of leadership experience in Catholic education and a proven record of advancing academic excellence through mission‑driven leadership. Since 2016, he has served as Principal of St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey, where he has functioned as the school’s chief academic and instructional leader, overseeing curriculum development, instructional practice, faculty formation, assessment systems, and accreditation initiatives.
 
As Assistant Head of School for Academics and a member of the Albertus Magnus Leadership Team, Mr. Bruno will provide leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, scheduling, and faculty professional development, ensuring that teaching and learning across all departments continue to remain rigorous, coherent, and deeply aligned with our Catholic identity and Dominican mission.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bruno has partnered closely with department chairs and teachers to strengthen vertical curriculum alignment, expand academic pathways, and promote high‑quality, research‑based instructional practices. His leadership emphasizes regular classroom walkthroughs, actionable feedback, and professional learning structures that foster reflection, innovation, and accountability. “It is a privilege to join a community so deeply committed to faith, scholarship, and service. Prior to his tenure at St. Joseph Regional High School, Mr. Bruno served as Principal of the Academy of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Tenafly, New Jersey, overseeing a Pre‑K3 through Grade 8 program, strengthening faculty development, and implementing academic, STEM, arts, and service initiatives. Earlier, he held roles as Vice Principal, Dean of Discipline, and Director of Admissions, where he developed enrollment growth strategies and enhanced school culture and student support systems.
 
Mr. Bruno holds a Master of Education in Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University, where he completed the Catholic School Leadership Program, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and History. He holds New Jersey Principal and Educational Supervisor certifications with advanced standing.
 
Central to Mr. Bruno’s leadership philosophy is the formation of the whole person—intellectually, spiritually, socially, and morally. His approach aligns closely with the Dominican tradition, integrating faith, inquiry, and academic rigor while ensuring that students are known, challenged, and supported.
