Update from Rick Cabrera ’94

Arkansas State head men’s basketball coach Mike Balado has announced the hire of Rick Cabrera ’94 as an assistant coach on his staff. Cabrera comes to A-State after two seasons as an assistant coach at Austin Peay. In those two seasons, the Governors posted a 41-26 record and made one of the NCAA’s largest defensive turnarounds in 2017-18. Austin Peay went from allowing 83.8 points per game in 2016-17 to 71.2 points per game in 2017-18, the second-largest drop in points per game nationally.
