Bill Heilferty '74

Bill Heilferty is an Owner/Vice President for Primepak, a worldwide packaging specialist, headquartered in Paramus, NJ. Bill is highly respected in his industry and received the “Vendor of the Year” award from one of the top industry distributors.

Bill’s first taste of community service was after his senior year in high school, when he spent six weeks at St. Stephen’s Catholic Indian Mission, in Riverton, WY. His tasks were tutoring the students in math and reading, but he took it further and trained the children in basketball, track, and other sports. Bill grew up watching his father, Hank, support the community by coaching St. Paul’s CYO basketball team for over ten years, as well as holding the position of President of St. Paul’s Holy Name Society. Bill followed in these footsteps, coaching basketball at St. Anthony’s Elementary School in Nanuet for ten years. In more recent years, Bill has been dedicated to children’s health, and has been a Platinum Level supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities for many years.

Bill is incredibly involved with AMHS. Bill is currently serving his 25th year on the Albertus Magnus Board of Directors! He attended AMHS from 1970-1972, where his athletic abilities were front and center on the basketball and soccer teams. During his sophomore year, Bill started on the Varsity soccer team and captained the JV basketball team while serving as VP of his class. After sophomore year, Bill’s family relocated to a suburb of St. Louis, MO, where Bill attended De Smet Jesuit High School. This was an exciting time, when Bill and his brother, Bob, were on the Missouri State Champion Basketball team. Yet, his memory of the wonderful and exceptional years at AMHS has driven him to help lead the efforts for continued excellence at AMHS and Catholic school education.

Bill is devoted to his family. He has one sister and four brothers, who also attended AMHS. He is an uncle to six nieces, father to two stepchildren, and has six grandchildren. He never fails to enthusiastically celebrate all of their many birthdays, recitals, horse shows, and games! Bill has lived in River Vale, NJ, for most of his career, while enjoying his beautiful homes on Long Beach Island, a place he cherishes, and Cape Coral, FL, with the love of his life, Marie.
