Student Council ready to Lead, Serve and Inspire for the 2025-2026 School Year
Elected by their classmates, the Student Council Officers and Representatives were inducted on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
The Student Council Officers for the 2025-2026 school year are:
Mary Kate DeBono, President
JohnCarlo Mandara, Vice President
Katie Kim, Secretary
Thomas Castelluccio, Treasurer
Mary Kate DeBono is President of the Student Council. Mary Kate served as a Student Council Representative in her sophomore and junior year. Mary Kate is captain of the Girls Varsity Soccer Team, Back-to-Back State chAMpions, and a member of House Lima. Mary Kate is in the National Honor Society, Seat of Wisdom chapter, as well as the English, Social Studies, Science, and Spanish Honor Societies. Outside of Albertus, Mary Kate co-founded ACES (Athletes Caring for Elderly Seniors) with her brother, which creates companionships between student-athletes and the elderly community. "This year, I hope to make our school an even more welcoming place where every student can thrive and have fun, and to plan more activities that enhance school spirit and create new traditions to bring everyone together."
JohnCarlo Mandara is Vice President of the Student Council. JohnCarlo served as a Student Council Representative in his freshman, sophomore and junior year and was Director of his freshman class. JohnCarlo is the President of Kindness Club, President of International Club, Director of Art Club, Editor in Chief of The Albert Literary Magazine, Captain of Mock Trial, Service Coordinator for Bird is the Word, Mentor Program Lead and on Yearbook and Math League. JohnCarlo is in Aquinas House and in the National Honor Society, Seat of Wisdom chapter, as well as English, Social Studies, Science, Italian and Art. Outside of Albertus, JohnCarlo is the founder and President of Letters With Love, Builder at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh and is involved in Keep Rockland Beautiful. "I hope we can help make this year fun-filled and exciting with lots of social events and new initiatives."
Katie Kim is Secretary of the Student Council. Katie is a member of the Cross Country Varsity Girls team and in House Dominic. Katie is involved in Art club, Kindness club, Chess club, Falcons against Cancer and is a peer tutor. Outside of Albertus, Katie sings for her church and volunteers as a leader in arts and crafts at her vacation Bible school. "I hope we can create a safe and comfortable environment for students, so everyone can be included and involved in the school."
Thomas Castelluccio is Treasurer of the Student Council. Thomas leads Stage Crew, the AV Club, is a peer tutor and on the Preaching Team. Thomas is in House Aquinas and the National Honor Society, Seat of Wisdom, chapter. Outside of Albertus, Thomas is a volunteer firefighter in the South Spring Valley Fire District. "I hope Student Council can represent the majority of the students on issues that are able to be managed and would heighten the experience of the students."
