AM gathered for Mass for the Solemnity of the Ascension

Campus Ministry
On Thursday, May 14, 2026, the Albertus Magnus High School community gathered for Mass for the Solemnity of the Ascension – the day that celebrates the moment when the risen Jesus, after appearing to his disciples for forty days, was bodily taken up into heaven.
Fr. Raaser, pastor of St. Margaret Church Pearl River, celebrated the Mass. He reminded the assembly that the Ascension marks the completion of Jesus’ earthly mission and the beginning of his heavenly reign at the right hand of God the Father. And just as the eleven disciples were commissioned by Jesus to make disciples of all nations, we, too, are called to spread the Gospel message of Jesus by our words and actions.

After the distribution of Holy Communion, Fr. Raaser presided over the induction of sixteen members of the Albertus fAMily who are mandated to serve our school community as extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist. We thank the thirteen students and three staff members who will serve the Albertus faith community as eucharistic ministers at our monthly school Masses during the 2026-2027 school year.

At the conclusion of Mass, the Albertus Magnus High School Falcon Service Award was given to students for going above and beyond in service to others. The students in grades 9, 10, and 11 who earned the highest number of service hours during the 2025-2026 school year are Brogan Facinelli ’27, Matthew Henry ’27, Giovanna Marino ’28, Kyla McKernan ’28, Molly Bennett ’29, and Liliana Reese ’29.
